Learn how to apply to SBU!

It's easy to apply to SBU! As an incoming first year student, use the checklist below to learn what steps you need to take for admission 和 enrollment at SBU. 记住 ——你的 admissions counselor is here to help you through the whole journey!

Freshman 宝博体育 Checklist

1)网上申请

Get the ball rolling by filling out our online application for undergraduate admission. And the best part — the application fee is currently waived so you can apply for 免费的!

2) Send Transcripts 和 Test Scores

Ask your high school counselor to send an official copy of your high school transcript 和 ACT/SAT/CLT scores 去我们的办公室.

SBU's ACT school code is 2368 和 SAT school code is 6664.

You also can upload your transcripts 和 test scores through your online application 配置文件.

Admission Requirements:

Meet two of the following three qualifiers:

2.50+ cumulative high school GPA (在4上).00规模)
21+ ACT/1060+ SAT/68+ CLT composite score (SAT reading 和 math sections only)
Rank in top 50% of high school class

SBU is test-optional for admission. However, submitting ACT, SAT or CLT test scores could potentially improve your academic scholarship eligibility. Please contact your admissions counselor if you have questions or concerns.

If you haven't already, make sure you schedule a visit to SBU! 访问ing 校园 is the best way to discover how SBU can help you reach your goals 和 to see how you will find your place in our community. You can schedule an individual visit or join one of our group visit day events. We can't wait to show you around 校园!

4) File Your FAFSA

Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student 援助) to qualify for state 和 federal grants, loans 和 work study financial aid opportunities. SBU will use your FAFSA results to put together your own personalized financial aid package 和 your admissions counselor will work with you through each step of this process. The recommended deadline for filing the FAFSA is 2月1日.

5) Submit Enrollment 存款

Ready to officially join the SBU family? Login to your online application 配置文件 to pay your enrollment deposit 和 secure your spot in classes 和 housing! 存款 is refundable if made prior to 5月1日 for students enrolling for the Fall semester.

6) Register for Welcome Week

Welcome Week is our official New Student Orientation that takes place the week before classes start each semester. Attending Welcome Week helps you make a smooth transition 在SBU的生活!

7) Agree to Principles/Expectations

All faculty, staff, 和 students at SBU must sign 和 agree to the Principles 和 Expectations that we have on our 校园. There will be an opportunity to return a signed copy of this document at Welcome Week. To review the Principles 和 Expecations, click the button below.
